VALLEJO, SOLANO COUNTY — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. An overnight Interstate 80 construction schedule in Vallejo has changed after bad weather. Caltrans says a planned Tuesday November 3 closure was canceled and rescheduled for Thursday November 5. Work is also listed for Wednesday November 4. Each work window runs 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Which ramp and lanes?
The agency reports a planned closure of the eastbound I-80 on-ramp at Magazine Street and a single-lane restriction on I-80 about one-tenth of a mile east of Georgia Street. Crews are installing protective K-rail barriers to support further work.
Published detour
For the Magazine Street entrance, Caltrans directs drivers to remain on Magazine Street, turn left onto Laurel Street, continue to Stefan Street, then take Miller Avenue to its I-80 entrance. Drivers should follow temporary signs in case conditions at the work zone change.
Why trash capture is part of highway construction
The project includes systems designed to prevent roadside litter from washing into waterways. Work also calls for guardrail improvements, maintenance vehicle pullouts and erosion controls. These features do not eliminate all pollution but may reduce the amount of debris carried from the freeway by stormwater.
